Bringing Parents Into Treatment - The DBT for Parents Model

CE Hours 4

About this course

Clinicians are highly trained to work with individuals, yet many receive little guidance on how to effectively involve parents in treatment, often wondering what to do with them. Without actively involving parents in treatment, opportunities are missed—because parents play a pivotal role in shaping outcomes for adolescents and young adults. The DBT for Parents model fills this gap by offering a structured, evidence-based framework that equips clinicians to engage parents with confidence and purpose. Our approach highlights how family transactions can maintain or intensify problems —and how targeted parent interventions can shift the course of treatment. In this clinician-focused webinar, you’ll learn: ✅ Why involving parents is essential for maximizing clinical outcomes ✅ How to assess parent behaviors and understand their impact on treatment progress ✅ DBT-based skills and strategies developed specifically for parents ✅ A structured, practical framework—including chain analysis and a hierarchy of parent-focused interventions This training will deepen your conceptual understanding of family dynamics, broaden your clinical toolkit, and give you concrete strategies to transform the way you work with parents—ultimately enhancing the effectiveness of your work with the whole family.
